Registration For the April 2012 MC-FP Examinations (Certification & Recertification) is Now Open

Registartion for the April 2012 MC-FP Examinations (Certification & Recertification) is now open. In addition, please note that beginning in 2012, the ABFM MC-FP examination will be held in April instead of July.

The dates for the April 2012 MC-FP Examination are:
April 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21

The MC-FP Examination will also be offered in November for candidates who fail the spring administration of the examination, or for those residents in good standing who are off-cycle and are expected to complete training on or about December 31, 2012.

The dates for the November 2012 MC-FP Examination are:
November 7, 8, 9, 10

Diplomates can access the online application by logging in to his/her Physician Portfolio, then click MC-FP Examination and then Request Application. The application should be opened by January 6, 2012 in order to avoid any late filing fee. All key application dates can be found here: Upcoming Deadlines.

New Web Page Provides Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs Payment and Registration Data

CMS has created a new web page where you can find Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program payment and registration data. The page includes up-to-date information about the programs through October 2011. The new web page will be your resource for updates regarding the programs' registration, payment, and state Medicaid launches.

Overview of Content on the Data and Reports Page
The web page includes the following information:

Tennessee State Loan Repayment Program

Applications for the Tennessee State Loan Repayment Program (TSLRP) are currently being accepted for primary care physicians with a specialty in family medicine, internal medicine, osteopathic general practice, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology or geriatrics.  If you are a physician that provides primary care in a non-profit ambulatory clinic facility located in a federally designated shortage area or HPSA, you could be eligible to receive up to $70,000 in educational loan repayment for an initial two year service commitment.  If you still have outstanding educational loans after fulfilling your initial service commitment, you can apply for an additional $35,000 per year for up to five years.
